Manga Cross Stitch Book?

Apparently Helen McCarthy (an author who writes about anime & manga ex. "500 Essential Anime You Must Own") has just recently published a book called "Manga Cross Stitch". I am thinking that this book wont have any recognizable character in it considering she would have to get a copy-write to publish each character but its more generic manga style character stitches.

She is going to be a guest at AWA this year so I hope I will get a chance to talk to her about her new book. Never the less I will post the link bellow and see what you guys think about it.

I've flipped through it in stores, and though the patterns in it are really nice, I really don't like that you have to print them off of a CD-ROM to use them. Printer ink is expensive, and though I don't mind it for patterns I find online, if I buy a 20 dollar book, I'd sort of like to have the patterns actually printed inside of it. It does allow for greater customization, so I can see why the choice was made, but I was slightly bothered by it.

Yeah, I can totally see how that is irking. :/

I haven't looked at the book yet but I know that all the patterns are original because of copy-write laws but half the fun of cross stitching characters is that they are characters that you already love. I think the piece wouldn't have as much meaning if you had no attachment to the characters.
