Forum Ranking System

I'm thinking about doing a forum ranking system based on how many post users have made. The rank goes up to 7 stars. I could just give general names like "forum noob" "frequent visitor" "always online" "forum master" etc. but I would really love the levels to be cross stitch related. like "first stitch" "1337 Stitch Master" or what ever you guys can come up with I'm not really good with creative names so lets hear your suggestions.

And for posts to reach the next level they should be hard to reach but rewarding. This is what I'm thinking but give me suggestions on this to.

lvl 1 = join
lvl 2 = 50 posts
lvl 3 = 250 posts
lvl 4 = 500 posts
lvl 5 = 1000 posts
lvl 6 = 3000 posts
lvl 7 = 5000 posts

I love the idea of titles connected to cross stitch, but this system might make some people just compete for posts.. XD ah, nevermind. It is your forum. I will think of some creative names if you want this here.

Or alternatively, you could give each of us a special rank on a wish.

Well spamming is not aloud in this forum, I'm pretty sure I put that in the rules, if not I'll add it in. It gives people the motivation to be active on the forums and respect for those with higher rankings. So even if your competing for rank all your posts have to be relevant to the subject and the forums will benefit with new content.

I don't think I could give everyone a special ranking. If there was only 15 members it wouldn't be so bad but as more and more members join it would be extremely hard and I'm not creative enough to come up with that many names.

I meant the users would suggest their ranking. Maybe you can use special ranks for those who reached the top level.

Unfortunately the ranking system won't let me do that. I might find a way around it once someone reaches 5000 posts but till then we will need a name for the rank.

This is sort of silly, but since it's a nerd-related stitching forum, maybe they could be RPG-esque rank names, like Stitch Mage or Slayer Of The French Knot? It would be a little difficult to come up with them, and it sounds sort of weird, too, but maybe it would be fun. ^^

That is a great idea missy! It would be really hard to get them from just an RPG but what if we took them from anime and video games, maybe play off cliches for both. like Super Saiyan Stitcher, something about using boxes in MGS, etc.

Anywho, I do like Missy's idea of the RPG/stitcher combo titles. I'm sure we can all pitch in random idea's for names and you can choose your favorates from the suggestion pool. You could make a thread for it, or use this one.

But as I don't play RPG at all, I can't give any ideas for this combo. Maybe you can add something anime/stitcher too, like, I don't know, FullStitching Alchemist /FullMetal Alchemist/ (this would be for the masters), Final Stitch /Final Fantasy/(juust a lil bit more to the master level) or Full Needle/Thread Panic /Full Metal Panic(for noobs ) ; Stitched Away too maybe, but I don't know what ot will come for But Ghibli should be present

I don't play RPGs much and I cannot do a French knot.. XD I am also more for anime titles, something we all know and like.

Slayer of the French Knot definitely has to be on the list. Full Needle Panic and Full Stitching Alchemist should totally go up for consideration. You guys are coming up with some great ideas. Keep them coming.
