Its about time for my introduction to.

Lol well it looks like my turn to introduce myself since everyone else has (Thanks for stepping up to the plate everybody!). My name is Bria, I'm 19, I'm 6'2, I live in Knoxville, TN and I'm going to ITT Technical Institute to become a programmer. My DA account name is Kairi-chan16, most recently I have been going by Deejay Beta but I have also been called kairi_sora16. I would like to change my DA to Deejay Beta but I'm pretty sure that would just confuse people. I have a huge anime, manga (View manga collection: http://www.justmanga.com/vmb/6000), and video game collection. I am a manger at GameStop and I love my job. I have a super fan girl obsession with Kairi from Kingdom Hearts and practically flip out every time I see her picture.

Story of birth and name (just in case your curious)
My name, and my brothers name( Camden ), where both taken from road signs. My parents love to travel and when my mother was pregnant she would be reading names from baby books and my day would say the names of road signs to annoy her and they ended up liking a few. I was actually born dead. My body had stopped working and I was without oxygen for 13 min. Mom prayed and then I started crying and I am completely healthy and have no brain damage (well no more than the average person) despite the lack of oxygen to my brain. When I was 7 my dad was on a trip and telling that story to the Hebrew lady sitting next to him on the plane and found out that in Hebrew my name means "Health from God". So cool little story there.

Why I started this site
My mom showed me how to cross stitch when I was 9 but I never really liked any of the patterns. When I was 12 I made my first pattern, which was my 14'' Sora from Kingdom Hearts. It took me 3 years to finish because I had to edit it as I stitched because I didn't know you could do it in the program. After that I have done some small chibi's. Last year I did a 16'' Kairi and currently I am working on a 15'' banner of the Final Fantasy X Logo.

The reason I created this site and forum is because growing up I always wanted to stitch patterns things that I loved but there where no books that you would buy with those patterns. I searched for months and months on the internet but never found any patterns. But a few years ago patterns started popping up online. I have always wanted one place where you could find all of the patterns you loved without spending weeks just trying to find one you might like enough to stitch. My first attempt at a cross stitching community was Gaia's Official Cross Stitch Guild. That stayed active for a few years but eventually stopped. Now I know HTML and can maintain an actual website. So I decided to make 1337 XStitch. I definitely need all the help I can get but I know that with all of your help we can make this site amazing!

Why is the site called 1337?

Your story is really interesting! ^^ It's an cool coincidence that you found that out years after the name had been given- reading about things like that is always so neat, especially if you have a concept behind who the person that the story's about is.

The manga list thing is really cool, too! I've been working on My Anime List lately (made it to the Cs last weekend!), and I wish it had such a tidy interface to show the list off with.

1337 actually stands for leet which is short for elite. There is a forum language called leet and you actually substitute symbols for letters or words. I had to let my inner geek out for the name.

I buy all of my manga from Justmanga.com and I love their Virtual Manga Bookshelf. Now I just need to find one for my anime.

Well.....it is more interesting then my name.
But I was named after my father tho (he died when I was 1 1/2) When I was born I didn't want to wait to get the hospital. LOLOL I was born in my parents bathroom early in the morning!!
So Dawn is rather fitting!!

I read manga online on mangafox.com because there is none of my favourite manga published in the Czech Republic.

I remember before manga was popular and hard to find. I do use mangafox and onemanga for Japaneses manga that haven't been translated yet. I have gotten into a funk though that if I read a manga I have to own it. my wallet is already crying just thinking about it.

I kinda prefer reading them online because I wouldn't have a place to put them all, my flat is small.
