| So after working with just kits for forever I now want to get myself some base supply so I want to ask: What are the colors you most use/you think need to be around all times? And where do you get your stuff like Aida cloth from? Especially you guys from europe here... | |

| That one is hard to answer.....when I first started to want a huge supply of flosses I went to ebay first. Then after that I went to the store and got what I needed plus a few colours I didn't have-- then you are slowly building up your supply.
I would recommend getting alot of black floss....... it is always the first to go!!!! I don't recommend buying alot of browns tho-- not until they are really needed. Blues, purples and reds are always in huge demand.
I order my white adia in bulk orders -- like a yard. You can get it cheaper that way. They might sell it at a local fabric store too. | |

| I almost always forget about it until I need them for a sprite and am out, but I always like to have at least three sort of peach-ish colors around, since they come in handy for a lot of game sprites. I forget about yellow a lot, too, but I don't tend to use that as often. :S | |

| I have so many colors, and every time I find a pattern I'd love to do, I discover inspite of my rainbow of DMC floss....I don't have all the colors I need. I do use alot of blacks and grays though. | |

| I have never stitched anything outside without a pattern so I always just buy the colors I need and I will have them for next time I need to do a pattern. Though I would have to say get some black. I always run out of black every time I do a pattern. | |

| I got a lot of stuff from my mum and bought just a few basic colours like blue, pink, green, brown.. in about 2-3 shades. And then I buy what I need exactly, so I don't have much stuff. Everythig from local shops. I don't fuss much about precise shades. | |

| Eryn, good luck from me too When I'm going shopping without pattern, I usually go "Oooh, what a pretty colour! This too, and that one! Wanna those up there too!" Then I go home and wonder what to do with them ^^. This is not an advice tho, more like anti-advice ^^'' | |

| Glow in the dark floss...? I've done needlepoint with glow in the dark yarn, but I have to say that glow in the dark floss sounds like the greatest invention known to man. I shall be looking into this further! ^^ | |

| Thank you very much for the extra information on it! I wrote down the product name and am going to keep an eye out for it the next time I go craft shopping. The colors are really nice, too! Usually, glow in the dark is a little too muted, but these are quite pretty. | |

| Oooh, scented? I have a Strawberry Shortcake pattern book- it would be sort of cool to stitch one of the characters in the same scent that the toy comes in. It would have to make your hands smell fruity for days, though! | |

| I don't know if they still sell them, but the last DMC email I got, they had an advertisement for three sets of sented flosses. One was flower sents, one was fruit, and the last was vanilla's chocolates and coffees. | |

| Oh, I got my eye set on a pattern saying "My heart belongs to chocolate" it'd be so cool to stitch it with those vanilla's chocolates and coffees. | |
